It could very well happen to you!

Why do we sensationalize on the misfortunes of celebrities?  Or, reality show characters if you don’t consider them to be real celebrities.

I noticed that all of the entertainment news feeds have jumped on the reported story of Lisa Wu-Hartwell (along with husband Ed Hartwell) losing their Duluth mansion last week due to foreclosure.  Now, I’m sure they were probably forced to consider downgrading.  Surely they are not headed to the poor house.  At least I hope not...

I don’t know them and definitely don’t have anything for or against them.  But, it seems like people have this stance like, “ah ha, I knew they weren’t really wealthy like they portray to be.”  Almost like there is animosity towards them based on their portrayed position.  All I am saying is that it can happen to anyone.  You might just be a "hate-her" (hater) if you find joy in this information.

So, refrain from enjoying their mishaps because reality shows may be scripted but, real life isn’t.

Sometimes the drama is so entertaining that I believe we detach all compassion from their reality. But misery loves company though!
