What the heck is wrong with the Evangelical Lutherans Church in Minneapolis?
"AP/ Minneapolis- Lutherans to allow sexually active gays as clergy — Leaders of the nation's largest Lutheran church voted Friday to allow sexually active gays and lesbians in committed relationships to serve as clergy. "I have seen these same-gender relationships function in the same ways heterosexual relationships — bringing joy and blessings as well astrials and hardships," the Rev. Leslie Williamson, associate pastor atTrinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, Ill., said during the hours ofdebate. "The same-gender couples I know live in love and faithfulnessand are called to proclaim the word of God as are all of us."UPH- Have these people lost their minds?? I'm more outraged against their church rather than the gays that will hold these positions. The audacity of them to allow clergymen to actively participate in that lifestyle and be ok with it. This totally goes against the Christian faith.
Now, I'm not being a hater on gays or anything... Truth be told, gays should be welcomed into the church with open arms.... Along with all of the other people who commit heterosexual sins. Yeah I said it... In the eyes of God, gay acts are no different than a heterosexual couple committing adultery or fornicating. With that being said, neither side should be allowed to serve as church clergy.
Are they ignorant of scripture or just turning a blind eye on this new social agenda?? And the fact that they voted on this gives more evidence to their ignorance. I've added more quotes from the AP on this event below. It seems that not all of the leaders in this church have lost their minds.
"AP -- Rev. Mark Chavez believes the leaders of his church made a decision in direct contradiction of the Bible by lifting a ban on sexually active, monogamous gays and lesbians as clergy. "This will cause an ever greater loss in members and finances. I can't believe the church I loved and served for 40 years can condone what God condemns," said the Rev. Richard Mahan, pastor at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Charleston, W.Va. "Nowhere in Scripture does it say homosexuality and same-sex marriage is acceptable to God. Instead, it says it is immoral and perverted."
UPH- What's your take on this disorderly conduct?? I don't think that the Lord stuttered when speaking to Moses (Lev 18:22)

Church leaders are always in trouble and are held accountable for their actions, no matter what they do. It's just like being a celebrity or athlete: you are always scrutinized. Personally, I pray at home and write my own curriculum for my kids so they learn from MY experiences.
Bless.
