No Slack for Plax

Former N.Y. Giants receiver Plaxico Burress was sentenced to 2 years in prison yesterday. He was convicted after an incident at a Manhattan night club where he was carrying a loaded handgun and accidently shot him in the leg. He was given a plea deal earlier this year but he declined and continued to fight the charges. He's eligible for early release for good behavior after about a year and a half.
I personally thought that Plax should have taken the original plea deal that was given to him, and most likely he may have been been released by now. Even still, if Plax were to serve his maximum sentence, he'll be 34 years old and should still be able to make an impact in the NFL.

He should've taken the first plea deal...

I think they pretty much just tried to make an example of him. N.Y. has really strict gun laws and if he were in another state, his jail time would be much lower if any jail time at all.

im tired of everybody siding for this man. if you speed, u know ur gettin a ticket. in ny, if you carry a gun w/o permit, ur going to jail. he knew that. this idiot didn't even have a holster. he's 32, not 17. take the dummy from the ghetto, but can't take the ghetto from the dummy.
