Add Michael Vick to the endless list of reality shows.... (Sigh)

(AP) --BET has picked up a reality show centered around Michael Vick's life post prison. It’s set for eight episodes early next year and is tentatively titled “The Michael Vick Project,

The show, tentatively if not creatively titled The Michael Vick Project, will follow the dog fighting ringmaster as he joins up with the Philadelphia Eagles, rebuilds relationships with his fiancée and kids and attempts to make amends—presumably of both the court-ordered and PR-advised variety—for his 2007 arrest.

"I just want people to really get to know me as an individual," he told the paper. "What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I've made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it's not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up."

And it just so happens Vick will be picking himself up with help from a possibly lucrative TV contract and a rather unexpected supporter.

Potential Very Special Episodes will revolve around his revisiting the federal prison where he served 18 months and the Virginia property on which he ran the inhumane operation.

PETA, as expected, has already spoken out in opposition to the series and, more specifically, to the idea of Vick profiting in the wake of his atrocious acts. There's no word on how much Vick, whose company is also co-producing the show, is being paid.

(UPH) -- As far as I 'm concerned, Vick can do whatever he wants.  He did the crime and paid his time so; I'm free of any emotional hostilities toward his successes.  I'm a firm believer that everyone deserves to have the opportunity to tell their story.  It appears that this reality show will be free of drama (buffoonery) but, there will still be a high number of viewers.  The show will be a success because Vick still possesses that "love him or hate him" appeal.  PETA should use Vick's story as a reformation platform instead of opposing him personally.

PETA needs to kick rocks on this one. their is such a thing as fair punishment. Which i think Vick has served. the idea that he should suffer forever from his mistake is absurd.

i think Peta is actually supporting this one to some extinct. as this show will actually show the good work that Vick is doing to rebuild his image. but, i think they are just against Vick making a profit from the series.
