(UPH) - VH1's new show, ' Let's talk about Pep' ,centers on Salt 'N' Pepa rapper Sandra "Pepa" Denton and her three Pals which include former BET's news host Jacque Reid.  The show centers on the predictable subject of relationship challenges amongst mature black women.  For now, I am going to refrain from calling them cougars.  

In a nutshell, this is no more than a black version of Sex and the City with a reality show touch.  Actually, I'm not so sure of how real it is due to all of the scripting and production that goes into reality shows these days.  I guess VH1 needed a response to Bravos 'Real Housewives' (of Atlanta). 

Maybe this series will turn out to be of show of substance unlike the drama fests of all of the other shows.  On the other hand, I hear the RHOA is up for an NCAAP Image award.  I'm still shaking my head about that one...
