Walking downtown with your pants on the ground...

(UPH) - Larry Platt definitely made good use of his fifteen minutes of fame. Although his message (which really needed to be said) may be over shadowed by those laughing at his stage presence. American Idol will be sure to milk the entertainment value of having Mister Platt do his skit. I hope he has a lawyer because many will try to ride his instant notoriety.
(AP) - His nickname of the "General" is courtesy of Civil Rights leader the Rev. Hosea Williams as a result of his work in the 1960s with the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Georgia, organizing sit-ins in the South. He even has his own day in Georgia, for commending his "priceless and immeasurable contributions to society."
He was inspired to create the song three years ago when he saw a guy walking down a downtown Atlanta street with a baby in his arm and his pants slipping below his hips. "He had his underwear showing," Platt recalled. The song came to him spontaneously. He started chanting the chorus to
"Pants on the Ground." "He was being disrespectful so I wanted to embarrass him," Platt said. "He rolled his eyes and pulled his pants up a little bit."
