America the beautiful or ugly?

Is America the beautiful or is America the ugly? Depending on your experience in everyday life your answer may differ. But in my observation I surmise the worst is yet to come. I stand behind that statement based upon the everyday earthly evidence I like to define as ignorance. The American dream quickly became the American nightmare in two consecutive terms behind the Bushes. However George W. Bush with the exception of the economy, can only inherit some of the blame right?

After all, we are all responsible for our own actions and reactions. Why then, has the American allowed the state of the economy to alter its state of mind?  The unconscious practice of ignorance can be found in some of the most unlikely places. Leaders, civilians, employees, employers and even authority figures bask in this increasing epidemic. Ignorance prevails in various ways including insensitivity, selfishness, and impatience. God's love cannot be executed in a society full of hard hearts.

All you have to do is turn on your television to witness the lack of mercy and compassion in America. We enjoyed watching Tiger Woods' saga at his own expense. We'd rather pounce on a man before we pray for him. We'd rather lie on him before we love him. Celebrities, rappers and athletes aren't concern if your kids look up to them, it's their life! Have you watched tv lately?

Families no longer gather and watch a fruitful programming, those days are gone. It's all about reality shows that portray 'reality' as a drama harboring realm where fights come before forgiveness. Meanwhile, our children are deprived of true role models and examples of adult responsibility. Anyone need money? Just get in front of the camera and act immature! What about the workplace? Employees remain dissatisfied with their compensation while employers intentionally squeeze profitable labor out of smaller budgets. The madness continues while greed outweighs the necessity of love. I am not sure if we realize where we are.  Money will not change this economy or creating more jobs.

The change that we are in dire need of is in our hearts where the journey for all change begins.
