The Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly offered Tom Izzo a contract worth $6 million a year to become their new head coach. Cavs Owner Dan Gilbert is a MSU grad and happens to be very fond of Tom Izzo's work. Izzo has been linked to a lot of NBA jobs in the past and he's turned them all down. Being a Michigan native, he seems very comfortable where he is and has a great team in place next year at MSU that seems poised to make a run at a title. But for that type of money and perhaps an opportunity to coach Lebron James, it's worth taking a look. It's a lot of college coaches that try to make an impact in the NBA, but many are unsuccessful. I think a guy like Tom Izzo may be an exception to that. He's not just an icon or an excellent recruiter like most of these college coaches...this guy can actually coach.
