Do you know what the #1 Movie in America is? Yup you guessed it, TAKERS. Grand Hustle Films first project went #1 first weekend out. Even more surprising is that Morris Chestnut and Chris Brown (also starring in the movie) are Executive Producers of the film as well. This was a major deal for Cinema lovers.

But, I had a run in with the one thing that kills black films on my way to see the movie. I received a paper ticket. Yes, I did have free movie passes, but that’s beside the point. I have never received a paper ticket for a movie unless the system was down. So I politely went back to the box office at the theatre and said, “Sir, I received a paper ticket.” The reply I received was, “Yes, you did!”

Anyone paying attention to the big picture here and not the movie? Paper tickets don’t report to the box office. Neither does the wrong ticket. So when I went to them and asked them about it, they looked at me like I didn’t know what I was talking about. Like I was Chicken George or Can’t Get Right! Keep ya eyes on those theatres b/c they will prevent a lot of films from going #1 and this is why a recount had to be completed to ensure that they received their spot on top of this weekends film ratings.

Anyone had that happen to them?

Thankfully that did not happen to me. One question however, Morris Chestnut was in the movie?

    B,

Morris Chestnut was not in the movie. but without his money and input, this movie couldn't have happened. Chris Brown also put up his own money to make this happen. Big Ups to those brothers for putting together a #1 movie.
