Can't Trust A Contractor

Okaaay… So, I’ve hired a contractor to do a job and paid him 50% upfront. He was supposed to start the job five days ago but, his truck broke down. He had intentions of fixing his truck with my money but, realized that he wouldn’t have enough to pay for the contract work supplies. So, we both agreed that he should give me my money back since he can’t complete the job. He suggested I give him a couple of days to get the money back but, it has been four days since I last talked to him. He has also failed to return any of my calls after several attempts to reach him.

What should I do??

A)   Get the law involved
B )  Give him another day to respond
C)  Go see about him... (I'm trying to stay saved but, some people will take you there)

This is horrible! I'm sorry that you are dealing with such an unfortunate situation. I would definitely go see him; the same thing happened to my aunt, and when my uncle went to his house, it turned out he left town!! Was he licensed and bonded? If so, I would get the law involved.

Sylvia, do you know how much court costs come in to play? How long that takes? the system would be against him all the way. I say we flip em. Heads you beat em up, tails you beat em up. That's the only way.
