Top 5 for Social Media for Biz Professionals

1.   When you are having trouble getting people to come to your business...try going to them.  There are 600 million people on Facebook for crying out loud.  This is also a way to get your long lost friends and family to support your business.

2.  Video is a very powerful marketing tool that is now accessible to anyone with a digital video camera and a YouTube account.  Youtube is marketing made easy for those of us on a Micro-budget.  It's also a great search engine tool for those who seek visual instructions on a variety of topics.  I use it as a free knowledge base whenever its time to do some research on the competition.

3.   A year ago, I would have listed Linkedin as number one on my list.  But, I think they are now trying to keep up with adding the unwanted features of twitter and facebook.  Don't get me wrong, it is still a great networking tool for professionals.  There are many opportunities to benefit from real business minded contacts within the Linkedin community.  But, I think the landscape of popular social media has forced Linkedin to change its focus from conservative business networks to mainstream networking tool.

4.  This is a perfect tool to stay 'in the know' of what is going on at any moment.  Just make sure that you are following credible sources.  Get tuned into this flow of instant information and you are sure to stay ahead of the game.  Twitter is also a great place to engage with potential clients and learn from other successful business owners.  But, try not to give out too many trade secrets to your competitors though...

5.
It is not called the "Free Encyclopedia" for no reason...  Wikipedia is highly indexable and it’s a great place to put your bio up to allow people to see who you are.  If you’re a public person, you definitely want to be represented here.
