Tips On Starting A Business

Just a few tips from Urban Peephole's Business Self-Help series...
- Do it before you talk yourself out of it...or someone else takes your idea. Don't be the person that swears that someone took their idea and became successful from it.
- Tons of people have started businesses from ideas of people who didn’t have the will or skill to do so themselves. Don’t be a victim here.
- Start your business before you leave your current job. Chances are that you will need ample time to develop your idea before it can bring in the type of income that can sustain your livelihood. Try about 3-5 years.
- If you are currently unemployed, get your business plan together (ASAP) and shop for a business loan.
- Know the demand of your potential service to set your expectations. Just because you think that your service is great doesn’t mean that other people will desire it.
- If you can sustain your livelihood, then go ahead and pursue your passion for a peace of mind. If you can’t sustain your responsibilities over the long-haul...make sure that you have an exit strategy.
- If you are looking for instant results, I’m sorry that I wasted your time. Disregard my previous comments and stick to your 9 to 5. If you work 40hrs a week at your day job…what makes you think that you can start a business by only putting 5hrs a week into it??
Much success to you...work smart and plan hard

Excellent read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing a little research on this topic. And he actually bought me lunch because I found it for him. So I should thank you for the free lunch I got.
