4 Cures for Working 70 Hours a Week

Just a few tips from Urban Peephole's Business Self-Help series...

Instead of exploiting time exploit the market
-  Find an area of your business that is highly desired by your customers and exploit it.  Business owners often spend unnecessary time on products that require too much resources to produce or market.  Find what works and spend more resources there.

Target primarily the customers that patronize you - Often times we get caught up into trying to sell to any and everybody.  Identify your loyal customer base and focus on satisfying their needs.  This will often lead to more repeat business and word of mouth referrals.

Scale back on services with low demand - Nothing is wrong with reducing your product line if customer demand is low.  It is called good resource management.  You can still offer the service if a customer needs it...But, don't spend much time advertising, promoting, and developing a product that isn't selling as well as your other services.  Save yourself some time and frustration.

Share marketing responsibilities by partnering with another business - This is pretty much self explanatory here.  Create a partnership with someone who specializes in marketing and advertising full-time.  Besides, you will probably need the additional time to actually provide your service.  You will just be spinning your wheels trying to wear multiple hats and frequently changing gears.
