Happy Hour Live

(Opinions? Suggestions?)

What would you say if I told you that I know of a band that is changing the face of ‘Happy Hour’?

I was called to a popular soul food restaurant in Riverdale, Georgia. Now, for my Georgia folks, you might ask…”Kim, you’ve never been there?”. The answer, of course, is yes; but, I’ve never been to the place on a night like this.

When you enter, it is standing room only. You see people from wall to wall standing and clapping or sitting in their chairs rocking with a plate of food sitting in front of them. Tables and chairs have been moved to make room for the source of the joy and appreciation…a band. Not just any band. A band of accomplished musicians, young enough to be in high school and college playing and singing the Word of the Lord. In all my years as an appreciator of music, gospel and secular alike, I have never witnessed anything like it.

Happy Hour Live, a band which consists of a gospel rapper, a girl group, and a male singer, travel Clayton County, Georgia with a mission to introduce The Gospel to the community. Most gospel bands are sequestered to their church and perform as needed for their own parishioners. Not this band. They take their message and awesome performances to the masses. They travel from location to location with the mission to make Clayton County a better community; getting the crowd involved and out of their seats. It was an amazing sight to see what would normally be a modest crowd of diners having dinner with minimal chatter, turn into a swelling crowd of diners clapping and singing along with this wonderful band.

So, UPH family, remember…you heard it here first. Brandon (B-Lat) Lattimore, God’s Gurls, and Darien (Vocalist Warrior) Brooks of Happy Hour Live are coming to a location near you to ‘change the face of Clayton County’. Stay tuned to www.urbanpeephole.com to get future dates and locations.
