Something to do during a Lockout?

There are all kinds of stories about the NFL Lockout and how many people have are unemployed. People are worried if they'll ever get back to work and all both sides are doing is fighting over 9 billion dollars. No big deal right?

Well a few NFL stars are doing something positive with their time during this lockout.

Do you remember the mom who drove her car into the Hudson River in NY killing herself and her children? There was 1 child that climbed out of the car to safety and lived amid this horrible tragedy.

That one child's name is La'Shaun Armstrong, a 10 year old boy who is now without a family. His father is in jail, so he not only has no family, but no real mentor or meaningful chance to lead a promising life, right????

Well, Baltimore Ravens future Hall of Fame Linebacker Ray Lewis and former NFL cornerback Reggie Howard did something helping this young man cope with this situation and get a fresh perspective on life.

Saturday night, both invited La'Shaun to the United Athletes Foundation fundraiser in Manhattan where Lewis is the Vice President and Howard is the President of the organization. They went to Armstrong's home and picked up both he and his grandmother, new permanent guardian, and enjoyed a weekend at the Manhattan Grand Hyatt hotel.

The Foundation took the young man shopping. He got a new suit and they Foundation presented he and his grandmother with a check. Although it was an undisclosed amount, it was said that the foundation would help him well into the future.

If athletes can do this during a lockout, why is everyone concerned about who gets 9 billion? There is 1 young man who would probably settle for 9 more minutes with his mother!
