LIONS, TIGERS, AND BEARS…OH MY
LIONS, TIGERS, AND BEARS…OH MY
Week four underdogs on top.
Following the yellow brick road to victory was the main goal for three teams who by most NFL fans were predicted to win in week four. Those teams that somehow managed to turn off the road headed to the wicked west were the Dallas Cowboys, the Buffalo Bills, and the Carolina Panthers. I have to say the most upsetting game of week four was Detroit at Dallas (34-30) for two reasons, TONY ROMO. Early on a victory for the ‘boys’ was on the horizon, as they led the lions through much of the game. Upon the first interception in favor of the Cowboys, by safety Gerald Sensabaugh and countless receptions by Laurent Robinson and Dez Bryant, things were looking up for the ‘boys.’ The Cowboys team captain Mr. Romo himself, later felt the pressure and threw three interceptions two of which happened to be pick-sixes, one received by former cowboy, good friend, and groomsman at Romo’s wedding Bobby Carpenter. To recollect the game, as a Cowboys fan is torturous, so to sum it all up I’ll just say this game set a record, “the biggest single game collapse in Cowboys history.”
For the Tigers, or the Cincinnati Bengals they managed to sweep the Buffalo Bills (23-20) by a field goal giving the Bills their first loss of the regular season. This particular match up was a bit of a ‘nail-bitter,’ as in the fourth quarter both teams were tied. Bengals rookie QB Andy Dalton, along with placekicker Mike Nugent and wide receiver A.J. Green held the team together and played with much courage and consistency.

Lastly the Chicago Bears or as I like to call them the ‘box of chocolates’ (because you never know what you’re going to get early in the season), were too victorious over the Carolina Panthers (34-29). Although they played a good game, I think we need to see more because the Bears dismantle when the playoffs near, much similar to that of the Atlanta Falcons…but that’s another story. Everyone knows the not so secret weapon the bears have, known as Devin Hester who seems to return any and everything, as he also did for an incredible sixty-nine yards this game. Jay Cutler performed well and greatly contributed to the win, as did Matt Forte.
If week four is any indication of who will go all the way in the NFC north, the current champs who hold a perfect record of 4-0 must stay motivated because the Lions have tasted victory and they like it. Oh, and Romo…Get it together!
